Tetere Beach is the site of the World War II battle of Guadalcanal, 20 kilometers west of the capital Honiara. The beach is clean, beautiful and absolutely picturesque. The attraction of Tetere Beach is the nearly 40 tanks rusting away in the lush jungle, just as US troops left them when operations ceased on the island. It's a great place for anyone interested in the Second World War, as the site is covered in military artefacts and the 'museum' is owned by Jacob Vouza's grandson, who has a wealth of knowledge about what happened during the war.
