Landscape at Cape Alexander in Greenland in Denmark (2007)

Cape Alexander

Cape Alexander is located in Baffin Bay, in the northwest of Greenland, in the community of Avannaata. It is one of Greenland's most important landmarks. Cape Alexander is located in Prudhoe Land, with Hartstene Bay at the western end, Dodge Glacier to the east and Storm Glacier to the southeast. This headland is Greenland's westernmost point. Dodge Glacier terminates in Smith Sound, east of Cape Alexander, north of Storm Glacier. Dodge and Storm Glaciers do not flow directly from the Greenland Ice Sheet, but rather from the ice cap at the southwestern end of Inglefield Plain, which joins the Ice Sheet from the southeast.
