Ushaiqer is one of the most ancient towns in the Najd region of Saudi Arabia and was an important stop for the pilgrims arriving from Kuwait, Iraq, and Iran to perform Hajj or Umrah. Strategically located at the crossroads of several major trade routes, Ushaiqer played a vital role in the regional economy, serving as a hub for the exchange of goods, ideas, and cultures. Historically, Ushaiqer belonged to the Tamim tribe, though other tribes had lived there as well. Furthermore, it is the homeland of many families in the Arabian Peninsula. The well-known families are Al-Hussaini, Abahussein, Al-Elsheikh, Al-Thani and & Al-Bassam. The town's rich history dates back to the pre-Islamic era, with archaeological evidence suggesting that Ushaiqer was an important center of trade and commerce during the ancient times. During the Hajj season, Ushaiqer would come alive with pilgrims from across the region, who would stop in the town to rest, refresh, and prepare for their journey to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. The town's rich cultural heritage is still evident today, with many of its ancient landmarks and historical sites preserved and protected for future generations. The fact that the old adobe buildings are still untouched is the historical importance of the village. For this reason, it is known as one of the most interesting historical areas in the region. Recently, the people of Ushaiqer have restored the historical village to protect its heritage and built a museum displaying different relics and items belonging to the village.
