Kintampo is a town and tourist attraction within the Bono East Region of Ghana. It has been the Kintampo North Municipality capital since 2004. The majority of the people in Kintampo are farmers, with the main focus of production being yam, maize, legumes, tubers, and other types of vegetables. The region is home to both the Bono and Mo tribes. Kintampo is a cosmopolitan town, with other tribes such as the Wangaras, Gonjas, Konkombas and others living in the town. The Wangara Community's annual Benkadi Kurubi Festival is always held in Kintampo. The town is one of the tourist centers of the country, and there are several tourist attractions, noteworthy amongst them are the Kintampo Falls and the Kintampo Fuller Falls. But another iconic monument that has put the town on the tourism map is the Center of Ghana site.
