La Paz Waterfall

The La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park is Costa Rica's most visited, private nature attraction, featuring Costa Rica's most famous waterfalls, the country's largest animal sanctuary with over 100 species, and 3.5 kilometers of cloud and rainforest hiking pathways. The park is home to jaguars, pumas, ocelots, margays, jaguarondi, sloths, monkeys, White-Faced and Spider Monkeys, hummingbirds, toucans, macaws, marmosets, snakes and frogs. Five waterfalls line the paths of the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. La Paz Falls is Costa Rica's most famous waterfall on the way to the Arenal, but the most impressive waterfalls are located above La Paz Falls along a steep canyon. The scenic beauty of the mixed cloud and rainforest on the banks of the La Paz River is what makes these five waterfalls the most picturesque in the whole country. The Gardens are made up of three kilometers of paved paths in the lush rainforest. While walking, you can see colorful flocks of tropical birds flying close to the waterfalls. In the Hummingbird Garden, you'll find 24 species of these charming little birds. In the park you will find the orchid garden and the frog pond, where you can see, among other things, the small poisonous Dart Frog. At least 30 different species of native snakes live in the serpentarium. And there is the world's largest butterfly garden, about the size of a football ground. The garden is filled with colorful butterflies of all shapes and sizes, flowing freely in their naturally occurring habitat.
