Debundscha Point

Debundscha is a village in the south-western region of the Republic of Cameroon at the foot of Mount Cameroon. It is located directly on the Cameroon coast, facing the South Atlantic Ocean. Debundscha has a very rainy climate, with around 10 299 millimeters of rainfall per year. The village is one of the five rainiest places in the world, along with Lloro, Mawsynram, the Big Bog and Cherrapunji, where more than 10 000 millimeters of rain falls each year. The proximity of the village to the equator, which is always hot and humid, ensures an extended rainy season and a brief dry season in a year. Debundscha's coastal location, with Mount Cameroon behind it, a huge mountain mass rising from the South Atlantic coast to an altitude of around 4,095 meters, prevents rain-forming clouds from passing over it, which means that Debundscha receives abundant rainfall throughout the year.
