Quilengues, also known as Kilenjes, is a town and a municipality in the province of Huíla in Angola. The town is located on the western edge of the Central Highlands. Geographically, Quilengues is situated in the southwestern part of the country, approximately 150 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital, Lubango. Quilengues was colonized in 1770 by the Portuguese. It functioned as a slave trade gateway, extending the trade to southeastern Angola as far as the Kunene River.
