Ayhaft Canyon National Park

Ayhaft Canyon National Park or Wadi Ayhaft National Park is one of the most attractive and important sights. The area has large freshwater pools in which you can swim. The park is home to many endemic plants, such as Desert Rose, Tamarind trees and Cucumber trees. Ayhaft Canyon is also home to many species of birds, such as the Socotra Sparrow, the Socotra Sunbird and the Socotri and Somali Starling. The canyon has a much higher rainfall than the Socotra average, and is home to a unique green forest rich in endemic species. It is one of the island's greenest areas, thanks to the Hagger Mountains, which act as a core for the condensation of moisture from the sea. The canyon is particularly important from a botanical point of view, as it is home to some species not found in other areas.
